This is the first and only multi-module program
devoted to the subjects of whiplash and brain injury traumatology.
Dr. Arthur C. Croft is one of the world’s leading scientists
in this field and an award-winning speaker. He’s devoted the
past 26 years to research and teaching after recognizing that nearly
3 million whiplash injuries occur every year in the U.S., and that
almost half of these will experience long-term or permanent pain
or disability. Motor vehicle crashes are also the largest cause of
brain injury in the U.S. Combined, the two conditions burden society
with over $200 billion in cost annually. The doleful clinical outcome
is largely a reflection of the poorly understood nature of the condition
and the common—but misguided—advice provided by most
doctors and hospital staff. Since the 1980s, whiplash injuries have
been on the rise worldwide, largely as a result of structural changes
and increased fleet stiffness brought about by the New Car Assessment
Program and stiffer seat back requirements. Manufacturers, meanwhile,
have demonstrated a general lack of interest in prevention strategies
when it comes to whiplash injury, with a few notable exceptions.
Dr. Arthur C. Croft, the director and
senior scientist at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego,
has developed a science-based training program designed to provide
treating physicians (DC, DO, and MD) with the critical tools they
need to successfully manage victims of motor vehicle trauma in
order to achieve optimal clinical outcomes. (More than 1900 scientific
papers are referenced during the first two Modules alone.) Because
a portion of these cases are litigated, it is also necessary to
develop the requisite skills for forensic presentation so that
physicians can present factual and objective information about
these often very complex issues to other professionals and to lay
persons in a cogent and understandable format. Following is a brief
summary of the four Modules of the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology 2018
program.

23rd Annual Scientific Conference
>November 17-18, 2018
San Diego, CA

Every year we put on the
Annual SRISD Scientific Conference (formerly the Advanced Program)
here
in San Diego. Is open only to graduates of the four-module Whiplash and Brain Injury
Traumatology program. The purpose
of
the Annual SRISD Scientific Conference is to review the entire
year of scientific research and publication from the diverse
fields of clinical medicine and automotive safety engineering,
as well as research coming directly from SRISD and its research
affiliate, the Center for Research into Automotive Safety and
Health. In addition to the literature indexed by the National
Library of Medicine, the conference reviews literature published
in the Annual Association for the Advancement of Automotive
Medicine (AAAM) Scientific Program, the Annual Conference of
the International Research Council on the Biomechanics of Impact
(IRCOBI), the Annual SAE Stapp Car Crash Conference (and SAE
general publications), the Annual International Traffic Medicine
Association (ITMA) Conference, and the Annual International
Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (ESV).
Dr. Croft also reviews the happenings and proceedings at the
various world conferences on whiplash and other related fields.
As with all of the Module programs, the written materials are
copious and fully referenced. A book of the proceedings is
provided to all attendees, which contains the reference citations,
their abstracts, and Dr. Croft’s in-depth commentary
of the papers. Versions are also available as Plug-Ins for
the Whiplash in Hypertext 4.1 program.
Advantages of Attendance. Passing graduates
will be given a special listing on the SRISD consumer and physician
websites including the
following: headshot, name, address, phone number, website address,
and SRISD programs attended and years graduated.
This
is the only advanced certification program if its kind.
Advanced graduates are given priority placement on the SRISD graduate website listing.
This
credential earns you a place among the elite traumatology experts.
This
is the top level of certification from SRISD.
Rebut
ACR reports definitively and persuasively.
Never
be prevented from testifying in court on biomechanics or crash
phenomena again.
Set
yourself above other experts with a powerful credential.
