Why do I need special postgraduate training in the field of Cervical Acceleration/Deceleration (CAD) injuries?

Management of CAD injuries is a highly complex discipline that is, for all intents and purposes, not adequately addressed in a physician's training; whether they be medical, osteopathic or chiropractic physicians.  Thousands of articles have been published on this topic in the past, and many new articles are published each year.  An understanding of the subject matter requires familiarity with this comprehensive literature.

Treatment options, diagnostic criteria, and even the model for the etiology of CAD injuries change constantly and proper diagnosis and treatment of CAD injuries will result in a far better outcome for the patient.  For this reason, all doctors who agree to treat CAD patients should become thoroughly familiar with the subject, and subsequently stay current as new findings are brought to light.

Why should I choose the Spine Research Institute of San Diego over other CAD training that is available to the profession?

The Spine Research Institute of San Diego was founded by Arthur C. Croft, Ph.D., D.C., M.Sc., M.P.H., F.A.C.O., who has been actively engaged in whiplash research for the past 18 years.  He has authored Whiplash and Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries: A Guide for Patients and Practitioners (2009), co-authored the textbook on whiplash Whiplash Injuries: the Cervical Acceleration Syndrome, and temporomandibular disorders (Whiplash and Temporomandibular Disorders: an Interdisciplinary Approach to Case Management) along with several other books, textbook chapters, and over 350 professional papers.

The Spine Research Institute of San Diego is actively involved in CAD research, conducting basic research and constantly reviewing the CAD literature.  No other educational organization in this field has been as active, and none other offers such a comprehensive educational program.

What Modules are really necessary to get a good grasp of the subject CAD injuries?

Each Module presents an entirely different component of the subject, which is vast and often confusing.  A thorough understanding of all aspects of CAD injuries is crucial to properly managing CAD patients,   from diagnosis and treatment, to representing the patient's injuries in a court of law.  You really should be proficient in each and every area, accordingly, we highly recommend the entire series.

Why should I attend the Annual SRISD Scientific (Advanced) Program after completing the four modules?

The Advanced Program is an opportunity for doctors to stay current in the field of CAD injuries (Dr. Croft presents the latest research), and to receive Advanced Certification of Competency in CAD Traumatology.  Completion of the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics & Traumatology program is required to qualify for attendance.
